[ What countryside?? There's a question. Regardless of what the answer is, this drow is lost and muttering to himself, very much NOT heading in the direction he thought he was. ]

Weren't there supposed to be trees? I'm certain the forest was just over this ridge...

[You know? Normally this would be a 'not his business' kind of thing. But a Drow is interesting in this neck of the woods, as it were. And the others would. Probably appreciate him being helpful. Not like they're here to witness.

Which forest are you looking for?

[ Weird to see one on the surface, right? He keeps adjusting his glasses and squinting -

Right up until he gets called out to, anyway, which makes him startle with yelp. ]

[ He purples a bit and looks wary. Holds his cloak a bit closer to himself. ]

I - I'm not lost. I'm merely taking a circuitous route.

[ A beat. ]

But if you can direct me towards the Star Mounts or the Great Forest, I can get out of your way.

I think you may have taken quite the roundabout way, as those are in a different country altogether.

I am heading that general direction though.

[ A slow, confused blink. ]

They are?

Yes. This is Tal'Dorei. The Star Mounts are on the other side of the mountains.

[hermit_crab]

[ Oh. Oh. Tolovir lets out a soft groan and a curse. ]

Then - then you are right. I am very far off track. Gods and void.

But I happen to have business west already. I don't mind traveling alongside and helping you get back on the right track.

[It's what Pike and Keyleth would want to do and they aren't here so he'll do it but he will never ever tell them unless something useful comes of this.]

[ Tolovir meanwhile struggles visibly with himself, old mistrust and paranoia rearing up ...

But you know what? He's trusted a party before. He's looking for the Star Mounts (among other things) BECAUSE he learned how to trust again. So. Fine. He can try this. ]

That ... would likely be safest for both of us. Yes. All right.

Yes. While the worst of the forest has been cleared out, there are still wild animals around.

It should be easy to find your way to the Star Mounts once we get close to Kraghammer.

[At least once they get to the Cliffkeep Mountains, that's an easy enough split off point. Damn Kraghammer for being underground. Percy shifts his horse a bit, unsure.]

[ Kraghammer ... That gets Tolovir to straighten up a bit. Isn't there an Underdark entrance in there? That's also one of his goals here...

He gives Percy a deep nod that stops just short of a bow. ]

Tolovir. Is Kraghammer where you're going?

Yes, I have to speak with some people there. Some friends as well.

[Man he didn't even drop his full name. Respectful.]

I'm not sure what business you have at the Star Mounts but it isn't too far from the entrance at the mountains.

[ Tolovir shifts a bit. Again debating how much to say, and deciding to take a chance here. ]

... My ultimate destination is Kraghammer. Or at least under it. I was just hoping to regroup with my sister first.

[ In the Star Mounts, full of birds, the exact opposite of the Underdark, ]

[He's dealt with so much stranger. No judgement or questioning here.]

Then you lucked out. We should get moving, though. It doesn't do well to stay in one place here for too long.

[hermit_crab]

R - right. Which. Ah.

[ Tolovir HAD been just walking on foot here. He eyes Percy's horse with deep uncertainty. ]

[Yeah he doesn't exactly have a spare horse laying around. He looks around, then... Ugh. Actually doing the right thing.

He'll hop off and hold onto the reins.]

There's a village not far from here. Find a bed to sleep and get you a horse yourself.

[hermit_crab]

[ And Tolovir is slim and small, but not slim or small enough to ride two on a horse. He screws up his face but nods, not arguing at all as he starts walking. ]

You really are quite familiar with the area. Are you from around here?

Sort of. I've traveled it quite a bit, alone and with my companions over the years.

[hermit_crab]

[ He hitches his pack a little higher on his back. ]

Companions?

[inclementia]

Yes. My friends.

[Lord that's a weird thing to say but you know? He doesn't hate it, even when he can feel the unconscious little smile on his face thinking about them.]

They let me travel with them and we did quite a lot together.

[hermit_crab]

[ Well. Tolovir doesn't need an insight check to recognize that dynamic. Something softens in his expression. ]

Let me guess. You never intended to travel with them, and yet they grew on you?

Oh, I did intend to travel with them. They were interesting, and I needed to be able to get places.

But yes, they did. Grow on me.
